Please join us Tuesday, November 28 for an informal happy hour to celebrate the one year anniversary of Seattle Tech 4 Housing.
We have a lot to celebrate at the end of our first year, including:
- Legislative Wins: we lobbied alongside many other groups to pass Mandatory Housing Affordability in Downtown and adjacent neighborhoods.
- Electoral Wins: we supported pro-housing candidate and now Councilmember-elect Teresa Mosqueda starting back in March, when we threw Seattle's first Democracy Voucher party.
- Outreach Wins: we've brought out hundreds of Seattleites, many brand new to housing policy, to events featuring organizations like Capitol Hill Housing, Bellwether Housing, Facing Homelessness and The Urbanist.
- Media Wins: in addition to mentions in The Seattle Times and GeekWire, we got our first national media coverage on NPR's Marketplace.
- Philanthropic Wins: our members helped organize tech industry philanthropy for SKCCH's Project Cool and we're currently organizing a cohort of tech volunteers to work with housing and homeless service providers.
This has only been possible thanks to our dedicated organizers. Please come out on November 28 and say a big thank you to Brian, Bronwyn, Chris, Jonah, Laura, Thomas and Zach.
