The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the "citywide" implementation of Mandatory Housing Affordability (MHA) has been released and is currently open for public comment. The EIS is a (lengthy and wonky!) document that informs us about the impacts of proposed affordability zoning changes around Seattle. The City is accepting public comment on the Draft EIS until August 7th.

At the Housing Affordability Work Party! we will learn about the EIS process and content, share ideas for the future of our city, and comment on the Draft EIS together.

Some opponents of plans to implement MHA through affordability rezones—who have long dominated conversations on housing and land use in Seattle—have significant time and resources to weigh in and ensure that their voices are heard.

***The time is now to make sure the City hears voices of neighbors who support affordability and more diverse housing choices.***

If you have a laptop, please bring it along. If you don't have a laptop, no worries—we'll have extra for folks to use.

Food, childcare, and kid-friendly activities will be provided.

Please feel free to swing by even if you're not able to attend the entire meeting!
