Speak Up for Affordable Housing at Fort Lawton
January 9th is the City’s hearing on the plan to build more than 200 affordable housing units at Fort Lawton near Discovery Park—federally owned property that can be given to the city at no cost if it is used for affordable housing. This plan was killed a decade ago by wealthy Magnolia residents, and they are prepared to fight this proposal again (read more here).
Join as at the hearing to urge the City to not just continue with the current plan, but to revisit the idea of building more housing than the current proposal, which is not based on present need.
